Mark Twain once edited a newspaper in Missouri. One subscriber wrote that he had found a spider in his paper and wanted to know whether it meant good luck or bad. This is what Mr. Twain answered: 'Old Subscriber: Finding a spider in your paper was neither good luck nor bad luck for you. The spider was merely looking over our paper to see which merchant is not advertising so that he can go to that store, spin his web across the door and lead a life of undisturbed peace ever afterward.' (p. 17 of SPEAKER'S ENCYCLOPEDIA of Stories, Quotations, and anecdotes by Jacob M. Braude, Prentice-Hall, Inc., NY, 1955)

Sodbuster may be on the World Wide WEB, but that doesn't mean spiders like our advertisters.

THE POWER OF ONLINE ADVERTISING

  • Broad customer base - For the low cost and low maintenance, where else can you advertise and reach so many people from so many places all around the world?

  • Convenience - How many people get sick of using their lunch hour to run errands to stores that are only open during the day hours when they have to be at work? If the store is open after regular business hours, wouldn't the busy customers rather just go straight to the comforts of their homes than spend precious time catching up on the week's shopping? Why not bring the store into their homes, open for business at all hours?

  • Full color, animation, interaction - How many times has the cost of running a television commercial stopped potential advertisers from using that advertising method? The cost of running a colored insert in a newspaper can be prohibitive, too. In contrast, a web page advertisement for your business can be filled with all kinds of colors, animated action, and interactivity (buttons, questionnaires & surveys, links to other sites, e-mail commands, etc.), all at a reasonable price. Plus, your options are limited only by the limits of your own imagination!

What risk is entailed by simply trying a little online advertising? It is a low cost option full of exciting possibilities!

There's no harm in giving it a shot.

Sodbuster's Advertising Policy

Our sole source of revenue is advertising; therefore, if you like our stories and information, we ask that you show your support by advertising on Southwest Nebraska's magazine.

We now have well over 200 registered readers since we established our registration process in the middle of August, 1997. Sodbuster has also had over 3,000 "hits" so far. Our readers not only include many from Nebraska, but also from surrounding states and as far away as the west and east coasts.

Sodbuster allows you to advertise with banners.

A single or multi-image banner is displayed and rotated on Sodbuster's main index page.  Readers can click the banner and be transported to your web site.
