Any Thoughts?

Why haven't any good Americans replied to my article on Hitler?  We
lost how many Americans in WWII?  And, there is no reply to my saying that
he was a great leader?!

1.  He organized a systematic brainwash of many German people, starting with adults and moving through young children, in order to convince them that the German race was superior to others, based on skin color and ethnic background.  In this writer's belief, a truly great leader recognizes the worth of all races and that our global diversity is not a weakness, but a strength.

2.  Hitler persecuted anyone who believes in God -- not just the Jewish people.  Freedom of religion was not part of Hitler’s vision.  A truly great leader understands the importance of allowing people to believe and worship in a higher power than ourselves.  Hitler sought to replace that higher power with himself and his beliefs.  True leaders do not seek to force other people to deny their inner beliefs.

3.  Hitler was an evil coward.  Anyone who opposed him was exterminated, and I'm not talking about the Holocaust here. Political opponents were often arrested and whisked away in the night, never to be seen again -- including members of his own Nazi party.

A true leader will allow his policies to be openly criticized and allow the people to decide for themselves who they will follow.  Also, toward the end of World War II, rather than facing the reality that the Third Reich had fallen, Hitler took the most cowardly step that he could.  He committed suicide.  True leaders

face their failures and learn from them.

Hitler was a great leader, but not a 'true leader.'

Just trying to provoke thought.  I got a lot of my ideas for this letter from Randy Vlasin.

My thoughts are mine and mine alone.
