Alien and Tri-Plane

The American Kite Association has declared April as National Kite Month, and to celebrate National Kite Month the Tri-State Kiteflyers, a kite club located in Benkelman, Nebraska, has hung for display several of the member's kites in the Benkelman library.

The kites range in size from several small Hata fighting kites from India to a huge black and white Delta-Conyne, or DC for short. There is a pink alien kite, a "Sky Ship," some stunt kites, a 50-foot "Dragon" kite although this dragon has an eagle on it.

The kites will be on display through the month of April and although plans are not yet complete, there could be a kite fly toward the end of the month so you can see how those kites you have been looking at all month really look and perform in the air.

So, check out the times the library is open, come down and look at the kites on display and later come watch them fly.
